A welcome from our pastor

Meet Pastor Smith before you meet him at the door.

In a little over two minutes, Pastor Smith shows you around, introduces our church family, and tells you what a Sunday at Tomah Baptist is like. If you're nervous about visiting, start here.

What to expect

A Sunday morning, start to finish

The whole morning runs about two hours if you come for Sunday School and Morning Worship. You're welcome to come for just the 10:30 service.

Greeters waving from the welcome center inside the main entrance
  1. 9:15 AM

    Arrive and park

Park in our lot and come in the main entrance. If you told us you're coming, a greeter will be watching for you.

  2. 9:30 AM

    Sunday School

Short Bible classes for every age, from children through adults. We'll walk your kids to their class and introduce you to their teacher.

  3. 10:30 AM

    Morning Worship

Congregational singing of hymns, prayer, special music, and a Bible message from the King James Version. Sit anywhere you like.

  4. During the service

A connection card, not a spotlight

We won't single you out or ask you to stand. You'll find a connection card to fill out if you'd like. It helps us pray for you and follow up.

  5. About 11:45 AM

    Say hello

Pastor Smith greets people at the door after the service. Stop by and introduce yourself, even for a minute.

Finding us

Easy to find, easy to park

We're at 1701 Hollister Ave on the edge of Tomah, across from the fairgrounds. Look for the white steeple. There's plenty of parking right in front of the building, so you won't have to hunt for a spot.

  • Parking: Pull into the front lot and park in any open spot. None are reserved.
  • Drop-off: The covered drive-up lets you drop someone off at the door, out of the rain or snow.
  • Coming in: A greeter at the main entrance will help you find your way, and your kids' classes too.

Questions guests ask

Good questions, honest answers

What should I wear?
Many of our members dress up for Sunday, and you'll see plenty of suits, ties, and dresses. Please don't let that keep you away. Wear what's comfortable for you. We're much more interested in meeting you than in what you're wearing.
How long is the service?
Morning Worship starts at 10:30 and usually ends by about 11:45. Sunday School beforehand runs from 9:30 to about 10:20.
Will I be asked to stand up or say something?
No. We won't single you out. If you'd like us to know you visited, fill out a connection card or simply say hello to Pastor Smith at the door.
Am I expected to give an offering?
Not at all. The offering is how our members support the ministry. As our guest, please feel free to let it pass by.
What Bible do you use?
We preach and teach from the King James Bible. If you don't have one, a greeter will gladly give you a copy to keep.
What kind of music will there be?
Traditional hymns and gospel songs, led from the platform with piano and congregational singing. Words are provided, so you can follow along even if the songs are new to you.
Is the building accessible?
Let us know about any mobility or accessibility needs in the visit form or by calling (608) 372-2071, and we'll have someone ready to help you get in and get seated comfortably.
Can I watch online first?
Yes. Sunday services stream live on YouTube, our Facebook page, and the church app. You can also watch a recent service here. We'd still love to meet you in person when you're ready.
